Covalence, Stopaq and BG Industry.
Covalence brings heat‑shrink technology to district heating, gas and oil. Stopaq is the self‑healing corrosion protection for industry and offshore, and BG Industry's heat‑shrink joints go on pre‑insulated district heating pipes. Covalence and Stopaq are Seal for Life brands; BG Industry is an independent manufacturer.

Choose this when the joint is on pre‑insulated pipe and the sizes vary: the sleeve is wrapped on site and covers casings from 90 to 1200 mm, including repairs and dimensions outside a standard series.

Choose this when the surface is bare steel or an irregular shape: bends, valves, flanges, tanks, and corrosion under insulation. ST2 cleaning is enough, no blasting is needed, and it works as prevention as much as repair.
Choose this when the pipe size falls in the DN 90–450 standard series and many similar joints are made: the prefabricated sleeve is fast and repeatable, no welding is needed, and the joint is leak‑testable.
One install lasts the service life of the pipe in the ground.
| Traditional method | Stopaq + Covalence |
|---|---|
| Coating recoated about every ten years | Lasts the service life of the pipe in the ground |
| Blasting and priming before application | Wire brushing to St 2 is enough, no primer |
| Coating cracks when the ground moves | The visco-elastic compound self-heals small defects |
| Can interfere with cathodic protection | Compatible with cathodic protection |
| Curing time before backfilling | Applied cold, can be covered immediately |
| Applied with a torch or by blasting | Applied cold, no torch |
